Music Forever Music Together

Singing, dancing, learning, laughing, music-making and so much more!

"Every human being is born with the potential to enjoy music-making throughout life," says Director Michael Shay, "but it is their experience during early childhood that can determine whether that potential is reached.  There is nothing more natural than a family singing, dancing and playing music together.  We aim to help families share more of those kinds of moments - both in and outside of the home."

Music Forever Music Together, with classes in 7 locations in the greater Austin area, offers an internationally recognized, research-based curriculum that gives infants, toddlers, preschoolers and the adults that love them a chance to enjoy their natural birthright as musical beings.  The music-sharing in class seems to be something of a magic potion for many children, opening them up not only to the joys of music, but also prompting them to experience new things socially and developmentally long before parents ever expect.  The mixed age format of the classes means that the little ones watch older children modeling the "next step", while the older children enjoy the satisfaction of "showing off" everything that they are able to do for the little ones!

The CD's and songbooks that families take home help both parents and children to enjoy the musical fun together during the week between classes. That, along with all the new friendships made in class, make Music Forever Music Together classes an investment that lasts a lifetime for parents and children alike.  In the words of Music Forever Music Together families:

"These music classes have helped my kids in so many ways. Our child is singing all day, talking, learning and using new words from the songs we sing at the classes; I have gotten her interested in potty usage by adding "going to the potty" related words to the song she has already becoming familiar with. She uses the music but with her own lyrics, depending on what she is doing. I have done the MT with all of my three children and the improvements I have seen in their speech, social skills and music interest show almost instantly after the first class. The magic of music! Music Together is an investment! Well worth it!"

"We have had a wonderful time this semester. I truly feel that Music Together is the best activity on our schedule. When people ask me about the class, I tell them that it is a rich experience. Nothing can compare to this curriculum. It encompasses everything that is essential for a child’s development; song, movement, patterns, routines, joy, play, and structure. My daughter gets so much from the entire experience. It has changed our lives in ways that I do not even know how to express. I often use the “Hello Song” to sing to Music Together kids and they connect with me instantly. The patterned techniques (like toning when putting away toys or counting to turn off the lights) often turn tantrums into calm routines. Bringing joy and music into peoples’ hearts is a wonderful gift that you give other people. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the program."

Music Forever Music Together is a parent-run business, all teachers are former Music Together® students that took their love for music and their enthusiasm for the Music Together® program to the next step and became registered Music Together® teachers.
