This cold and flu season...and in light of the next COVID variant...maybe your house is the best place for your family to engage in community events. We wouldn't blame you. Here are a few local institutions offering virtual events this season (and beyond).

Check them out and keep supporting local!

1. A Christmas Carol - Reduce Reused Recycled with the Scottish Rite Theater

Rent their version of A Christmas Carol and watch from the comfort of your favorite Zoom chair. School’s out for the holidays, but Timmy Cratchit is stuck at Scrooge’s Plastic Emporium where his mom labors overtime on a last-minute deadline. Tim and his cousins work on a school project while Mr. Scrooge eavesdrops and learns about the serious environmental problems caused by the plastics his company produces. Watch the trailer.

2. Virtual Storytime with Austin Public Library, ongoing

A virtual Storytime, featuring stories, songs, finger-plays, rhymes and other extension activities. Recommended for ages 5 and under. This is an ongoing event through the Austin Public Library.
